Our reproduction comes from an early
black-and-white photograph of this
work (Juley photo no. 353; j0005138).
It was consigned to MarlboroughGerson Gallery in 1964, sold in 1965
to a buyer who did not pay for it,
and returned to the artist in 1972.
Motherwell stored it at the Santini
Brothers warehouse in New York in
1972, and its current whereabouts
are unknown.
