comments
An early version of this collage, begun
in 1973, had a label from Dry Humour
Port affixed to its center, relating it to
the Gauloises collages Motherwell did
during the 1970s. According to the studio card for this work, Motherwell
painted over the collage element and
gave the work its present title in 1991.
