The paper support for this collage is a
proof of a 1985 print, The Green Studio
(Engberg and Banach 2003, no. 363),
turned on its side. The collage element
on the left side is a fragment of another
1985 print, Black Open (Engberg and
Banach 2003, no. 358). The sheet music
is a lithographic reproduction from
Mozart’s Prelude (Fantasia) and Fugue
in C, for piano (k. 394/383a), turned
upside down.
This collage in turn served as the
basis for a 1987 print, In White with
Green Stripe (Engberg and Banach
2003, no. 378).

(Soria 1988). He inscribed “Pour le

Française” in the red area of the collage.
