An early version of this collage was
begun in 1977 and consigned to
Knoedler & Company from May 1979
to January 1980, when it was returned
to Motherwell. Shortly afterward, he
added the brown paint and the line
drawing near the center, and drew a
circle around his original signature. The
collage was completed by the time it
was photographed in February 1980
