comments
An early version of this collage, begun
in 1973, was shown at Knoedler &
Company in 1974 under the title Danse.
Motherwell revised the work, adding
the blue-and-yellow collage element
and the phrase “Te Quiero” (Spanish
for “I love you”), before it was shown at
the Harcus Krakow Gallery in 1980.
