This collage was begun in 1977
(Sloman photo no. 647), and the first
version of it was consigned briefly to
Knoedler & Company in April 1978.
After it was returned to Motherwell the
following month, he made a number of
revisions, adding the pink- and greenpainted areas, the black area in the
lower left corner, the blue lines on the
right side, and the black lines within
the pinks. The work was finished by late
1979 and consigned to Knoedler &
Company in January 1980.
